Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on May 8, 1990.

The chief shows a crown, the symbol of St. Pancratius, the patron saint of the local church.
The lower part shows the lion of the Counts of Nürburg. Agnes von Malberg, who was related to the Counts of Nürburg, owned in the 13th century a large estate, which included the village. In 1233 she gave it in loan to the Archbishops of Trier. The village since then belonged to the State of Trier until 1803.

Literature : Wappenbuch der Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land 1995.
