Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 26, 1993.
The origin of the arms is not well known. The arms are derived from a 17th century seal of the town. The eagle is the eagle of Brandenburg, the 3 leaves symbolise farming (i.e. agriculture), viticulture und fruit-growing. During DDR times the left half was gold, but in 1993 the historical silver was restored.
