VALL DE CARDÓS
Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida
Official blazon
Escut caironat: d'atzur, una vall d'argent sobremuntada d'un card de tres flors d'or. Per timbre, una corona mural de vila.
Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 25th September 2001.
This Pyrenean municipality was formed in 1971 with the previous ones of Ribera de Cardós, the chief town, and Estaon. The arms are canting: they show a golden thistle ("card" in Catalan) above the valley of Cardós.
