Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1955. The Grill symbolise St Lawrence patron of the Church of Steneby and the hundred of Vedbo. The Seal of the hundred showed the Saint holding the Grill.
The Embattled Brodure symbolises the Ancient Fortification at a hille near Steneby Church. The Tinctures are form the Arms of the Province of Dalsland. The Arms was designed by the Svenska kommunalheraldiska institutet (Swedish Municipal Heraldry Institute).
