Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 2, 1994.
The meaning and origin of the arms is not known. The design is taken from a picture in the city hall of Ziegenrück dating from the 1930s. The black eagle probably is the eagle of Preussen, as the area was part of Preussen at the time. The chequered field is seen as decoration only.
