Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 24, 1845 by King Ludwig I, and were based on the 18th century seal of the town. As the colours were not clearly described, different combination were used in the 19th century. The present colours date from the late 19th century. The angel is the archangel St. Michael, patron saint of the village.
Literature : Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
