Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1996.
The arms show the local church, a typical landmark for the village. The open book in base refers to the 17th century author Philipp von Zesen, who was born in the village of Priorau in the municipality. The leaves refer to the forests in the municipality, the blue bar to the Mulde river.
