JULIO XAVIER LABAYEN

Born : July 23, 1926
Deceased : April 27, 2016

Prelate of Infanta, 1966-2003
Titular Bishop of Sinnuara, 1966-1978

Arms of Julio Xavier Labayen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

As common in episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.

The chief of the personal arms is the arms of the Order of Discalced Carmelites of which the bishop belongs. On the base is a sable and argent checkered adapted from the Labayen family arms. His episcopal motto is "Dominus est" from the Gospel of John chapter 21 verse 7, where the beloved disciple shouted "It is the Lord" and reflects a recognition of God in all circumstances of lite

The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop.
