NASSWEILER
State : Saarland
District (Kreis) : Saarbrücken
Amt : Amt Ludweiler-Warndt
Incorporated into: 1974 Grossrosseln
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 18, 1958.
The arms symbolise the history of the village. The axe and hoe symbolise the freedom of the village to develop the forests into agricultural soil. The eagle is taken from the arms of Lorraine, as the settlers in the village came from that region. The hook is the symbol used on borderstones by the Counts of Nassau-Saarbrücken. The village was founded in 1608 by Count Ludwig von Nassau-Saarbrücken.
