Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 5, 1969.

The first quarter shows the cross of the State of Trier, to which the village belonged for 900 years. The second quarter shows a golden bowl as a canting element (German Topf, analogue to Düpp). The third quarter shows two pick-axes, symbolising the former copper mining. The fourth quarter shows the arms of the Von Hagen family, who ruled the village in the 15th century.
