Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1964 and was newly devised, as no historical seals or arms were known. The arms show the local fountain. Formerly the water was collected in a large wooden barrel surrounding the fountain, which is symbolise d in the arms. This was a peculiar sight and the village was nicknamed 'Steinbach in der Bütt', or 'Steinbach in the barrel'.
