Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 12, 1954.
The unicorn is taken from the arms of some members of the Von Thülen family, who ruled the village for a long time until the 16th century. The village was first mentioned in 1183 as a possession of the Abbey of Corvey, the colours thus are those of the abbey.
