NO 204 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed at Dover in March 1914 as No 4 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service and renumbered 1 April 1918.

On water barry wavy azure/argent a mooring bouy gules, thereon a cormorant displayed proper.
Motto: praedam mari quaero
Origin/meaning
The Water and Bouy symbolises the Flying Boats used by the Squadron when at rest. The Cormorant is to be found all round the Coast of United Kingdom and is quick to notice the Approach of an enemy. It was also used as an unofficial Badge by the Squadron. The Motto translates as "I seek my prey at sea". The Badge was approved in March 1939.
