BORBECK
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Essen
Incorporated into : 1915 Essen
Origin/meaning
The two swords are taken from the arms of the city of Essen. The laurel wreath is taken as a symbol of the former Essen Convent in the area.
The two sides of the shield show the quartered arms of the Fúrstenberg family, Abbesses of the Convent, who lived in the Borbeck castle.
