VERBANDSGEMEINDE ALSENZ-OBERMOSCHEL

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) :Donnersbergkreis

Wappen von Template:PAGENNAME

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 20, 1977.

The arms combine elements of several of the arms of the individual municipalities. The shell is for example part of the arms of Obermoschel. The two lions refer to the COunts of Veldenz (blue) and the Wild- or Rheingrafen (red), who historically ruled the area. The church refers to the many possessions of the St. Maximin Abbey in Trier, managed by their smaller priory in Münsterappel.

The blue wavy bare refers to the Appel and Alsenz rivers, whereas the bordure is the common element for Verbandsgemeinden.
