Escudo de Barberà del Vallès

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'or, un castell obert de gules acompanyat de 2 pinyes de sinople, un a cada costat. Per timbre una corona de marquès.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 14, 1985.

The arms show the castle of Barberà, centre of a medieval domain, later marquisat in 1702, ruled by Josep Galceran de Pinós i de Rocabertí. There are also the green pine-cones on gold of the arms of the Pinós family (canting arms: Pinós is derived from "pi", Catalan for "pine-tree"), and the marquis crown at the top.
