BAD KÖSTRITZ
State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Greiz
Additions : 1920s Pohlitz; 1994 Gleina, Reichardtsdorf
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms are based on the seal from Pohlitz dating from around 1850. The lion is the lion of the Counts and county Reuss, to which the village belonged until 1918. The shield with the two hands most likely was taken from the revolutionary arms of the Arbeiterverbrüdung (worker's brotherhood) from 1848. The meaning of the sword is not known.
Until ? the city used the ars shown below, with a similar design, but different colours. These arms were still listed in 2011 as the official arms of the town.
