German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

HOSENA

State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Oberspreewald-Lausitz
Incorporated into : 2002 Senftenberg (Brandenburg)

Wappen von Hosena

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are not officially granted.

The golden wall in blue is taken from the arms of the Oberlausitz region, see also the district arms. The oak tree is taken as a symbol for the medieval Lords von der Duba (Duba =oak) and the fact that the village name is derived from Hozd, meaning dry forest.

The fish refers to the previously poor diet of the people in the region. The quartz crystals refer to the quartz sand mining in the village for the glass industry.
