Origin/meaning
The keys in the first quarter refer to the local 11th century church, devoted to St. Peter. The castle in the 2nd quarter is the local 12th century castle. The third quarter shows three scallops, the symbol of St. James and indicating that the village was situated on one of the main roads to Santiago de Compostela. The saltire in the fourth quarter is the symbol of St. Andrew and indicates that the village is part of the St. Andrew's parish in Bordeaux.
