Origin/meaning

The two red fields symbolise liberty, pioneers and strength. The third field of blue symbolises loyalty, glory, serenity and care. The first quarter shows a Indaia tree, a canting symbol for the city. The second quarter shows two gears, a symbol of industry. In the lower half, the silver wavy bar symbolises the Jundiai River, the basis of the local irrigation system. Jundiai comes from "Jundia", a name of a local fish and "y" which means water in tupi-guarani (an Indian native language), meaning, River of the Jundias.

The mural crown bears a small shield with a fleur-de-lis, symbol of Nossa Senhora da Candelaria (Holy Mary of the Candelaria), the patron saint of the city.

The shield is flanked on the right side by a coffee branch, with red coffee berries. The coffee branch is the symbol of the work of all paulistas (inhabitants of Sao Paulo) who made the coffee plantations, and coffee is an important crop for the local and national economy. The left branch is a laurel branch a symbol of the glories of the Indaiatuba's people, who have made important contributions to the development of the Sao Paulo state.
