BEZAU

State : Vorarlberg
District : Bregenz

Bezau.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on February 1, 1929.

The pine tree was already used on the 19th century seals of the village. To distinguish the arms from similar arms with a pine tree, the tree was placed on the Austrian arms, as Brezau already became Austrian in 1390.

Initially the idea was to add two birds, taken from the Meursburg family, to the tree was rejected by the municipality.

Literature : Burmeister, 1975
