BERGZABERN (BZA)

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
Incoprorated into : 1969 Südliche Weinstrasse

Bergzabe.kreis.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on April 24, 1962.

The arms are a combination of the lion of the Pfalz, to which the area belonged, the crown of the Trifels and Ahrweiler areas and in the lower part the symbolised gate to the Weinstrasse (wine-street), which runs through the district. The escutcheon is the arms of the city of Bad Bergzabern.

Literature : Stadler, K. : Deutsche Wappen - Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Angelsachsen Verlag, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
