Official blazon
Origin/meaning
This mixed German-Netherlands Tank Battalion was formed in 2015 containig in its 4th Squadron the last 17 Leopard 2 Main Battle Tanks of the Dutch Army. The St George Emblem was used by all the Armourde Regiments of the Dutch Army and probably was chosen to represent this. St George is also a symbol of Knights, and the modern day Tanks can be seen as the inheritor of the Armoured Cavalry of the Knights.
