Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The County Rochefort was a small county located in the present-day Belgian Province Namur, around the city of Rochefort within the Holy Roman Empire. It existed as an independent territory from the 12th century until 1793 when it was incorporated in the French Empire.

The arms are those of the 12th century Montaigu family, who ruled as counts until 1147.
