Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 30, 1991.
The arms show a church as a traditional sign of this village; the local church is dedicated to Saint Mary. El Cogul is mainly famous for its cave paintings in the Cova dels Moros, where we can see a group of women dancing and some hunting scenes.
