Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 8, 1972.

The arms are a combination of elements of the arms of the two most important medieval families that had possessions in the area. The upper part of the arms is derived from the arms of the Onsorg family, the lower half from the arms of the Von Schellenberg family. In 1329 Konrad Onsorg from Augsburg bought a large property in the area, whereas the Von Schellenberg family acquired the jurisdiction of the village in 1459 as well as many properties.
