Origin/meaning
The arms have been officially granted on January 12, 1996.
These arms are canting: they show a "pont" (Catalan for "bridge"). The ancient bridge of Bar (dating from the 11th century) had only one arch, and it was carried down by a flood of the river Segre in November 1982; the five arches of the bridge shown in the arms symbolize Aristot, Els Banys de Sant Vicenç, Bar, Castellnou de Carcolze and Toloriu, the five main villages in the municipality.
