The arms were granted in 1938.
Karsava town developed in the 18th century. It was called Karsau in German and Korsovka in Russian.
In 1860 the railway St. Petersburg-Warsaw was built, and the Karsava station was a big impulse for further development.
In 1928 city rights were granted.
The arms were granted in 1938: four cloverleaves, a symbol of vitality and wealth.
