Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 6, 1996.

The upper part shows symbols for the two villages in the municipality, Mittelpöllnitz and Porstendorf. The millstone symbolises the historical windmill in Mittelpöllnitz. The horn symbolises the old post station in Porstendorf. The lower part shows the arms of the Pöllnitz family, who ruled the villages for many centuries.
