Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 21, 1568 by Friedrich III, Prince of the Pfalz.

Immediately afterwards the arms can be seen in the seals of the village. The eagle is the Imperial Eagle in changed colours, and symbolise the fact that from the 13th century until the move to Bayern in 1803, the village was directly ruled by the Emperor. The arms were continued and re-granted in 1836.
