Origin/meaning

The main symbol in the coat of arms is the dove, which symbolizes the Holy Spirit - the main Patron saint of the Cathedral.

The fleur-de-lis is a symbol of Virgin Mary, which in the Archdiocese enjoys great respect from the local people. The shield colors are taken from the flag of Papua New Guinea.
