BENTFELD

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Paderborn (until 1975 Büren)
Amt : Amt Salzkotten-Boke (until 1975)

Wappen von Bentfeld/Arms (crest) of Bentfeld
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 20, 1967.

The arms are based on a seal of Godefrid von Bentfeld, citizen of Soest. The lingonberry plant in the upper half is a symbol for the moors in the area, where these berries used to grow. The name Bent would also inducate moors. The colours are those of the State of Paderborn, to which the village historically belonged.
