Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 29, 1997.

Until the 19th century, silver was mined at Schrems. So, the main charge is a Gezähe (miner's tools) of archaic form. Today, forest-culture is most important for the municipality. The arms symbolize the woods of conifers and beeches.
