RAF STATION NEWTON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed in June 1940.
Official blazon
An eagle displayed crowned and holding in the claws two torches.
Motto: Docemus et discimus = We teach and we learn.
Origin/meaning
During World War Two the Station hosted the No 16 (Polish) Service Flying Training School. This is indicated by the Eagle, the torches symbolises learning. The badge was granted in July 1945.
