Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 16, 1981.
The arms show elements from the arms of its constituent communities.
On heraldic top right five silver balls on black represent the Lords of Sickingen (Hermersberg, Höheinöd and Horbach belonged to the Sickingen territory until 1791).
On heraldic top left the golden Lion on black symbolising the Electoral Count Palatinate or Kurpfalz(Heltersberg, Geiselberg, Steinalben, Schmalenberg and Waldfischbach belonged to this territory until 1791).
In the lower part a blue fish on silver symbolising the creeks and rivers rich in fish in that area as well as representing the seat of the administration in Waldfischbach (=Forest Fish Creek).
The border of gold and blue is a common element in Palatinate heraldry identifying the arms of a Verbandsgemeinde.
