Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1942 and officially registered in 1974.
The charge of these arms goes back to what was written in the royal letter of privilege of the year 1622. The anchor alludes to the town as a town of shipping. That the anchor is reversed (turned upside down) is probably made to make a distinction between the arms of Norrtälje and other similar arms.

The arms in the Kaffe Hag album +/- 1935 |
