Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on January 13, 2023.

The locomotive recalls the importance played by the railway in the last century for the development of the village.

The kangaroos symbolize the twinning with an Australian city of the same name (a suburb of Adelaide), named after the Battle of Dernancourt, where on March 28, 1918 approximately 1230 Australian soldiers died. The kangaroo thus also honours the Australian soldiers involved in the Battle of Dernancourt. The small kangaroo also refers to the younger city in Australia (even though it is ten times larger as the French village)

The wheatears indicate the agricultural character of the village. The wavy blue bar refers to the Ancre river next to the village.
