Arms (crest) of Jämjö
Official blazon
Swedish

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 18, 1964.

The arms are based on the oldest seal of the city of Kristianopel, which dates from 1647. The seal showed a lion holding a crown over the initials of the (Danish) King Christian IV, founder of the city. The same composition, but with two lions, can be seen in the arms of Kristianstad. To distinguish the arms of Jämjö the lion now holds the tree from the arms of the Blekinge province.
