Swedish | En röd sköld med en bjälke av silver, åtföljd ovan av ett kvarnhjul och nedan av en skära, båda av nämnda metall. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1924.
The arms show a silver bar for the Mölndalsälv river, with in the upper half a water mill wheel for the many water mills in the river, and in the base a sickle as a symbol for agriculture.
In 2016 the city decided on a new logo, based on the arms and with the removal of the sickle, as the area is now highly urbanised. These 'arms' have not been officially granted (or applied for).
