Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and adopted in 1960.

The four quarters represent four families that played an important role in the local history.
The first quarter shows t he arms of the De Grainville family from the 15th century. The second quarter the arms of the De Boulainvilliers family who ruled the village from the 15th to the 17th century. The arms of their successors, the Blondel de Joigny-Bellebrune family is shown in the 3rd quarter. The arms in the 4th quarter shoe the arms of the de Monthiers de Bois-Roger family who owned the village at the end of the 18th century until the French Revolution.
