UNTERPREMSTÄTTEN
State : Steiermark
District : Graz-Umgebung
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on 24 April, 1972.
The two pales are taken from the knights of Premstätten, the local squires of the Middle Ages.
The tree refers to the deep Kaiserwald forest, which was a hunting preserve of the Dukes of Styria.
The brick-wall shows the importance of local brickyards at the time of the grant of the arms.
Today, however, hard- and software products are more important to Unterpremstätten.
