RÖMERSHAUSEN

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Marburg-Biedenkopf (until 1973 Biedenkopf)
Incorporated into : 1974 Gladenbach

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 9, 1956.

The village had no historical seals or arms, new arms were thus needed. The arms show a linden tree for the (former) large linden tree in the village. This tree historically was the centre of the village and the place of gathering of the local council. The Roman helmet is a canting symbol, the name can be translated as Houses of Romans.
