Wappen von Trendelburg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the oldest seal of the city, dating from the late 14th century. The arms show a city wall and three church towers, combined with the symbol of St. Mary, the local patron saint. All later seals and images have shown the same composition, although the size, shape and colours of the different elements have varied widely during the centuries. The arms were never officially granted in 1976 after the merger with the 7 other municipalities.
