BERGE

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Osnabrück
Samtgemeinde : Fürstenau
Additions : 1972 Anten, Börstel, Dalvers, Grafeld, Hekese

Wappen von Berge (Osnabrück)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1978.

The chequered bar is a reminder of the Cistercian convent of Börstel, to which the village historically belonged. The red figure is the local border-stone ("De rohen Sulen"), which marks the former boundaries between Hahlen, Anten and the Börstel convent, after a long border dispute.
