Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 2015.

The Kyffhäusermountain in the municipality has a monument on top where the Emperor Barbarossa is sitting, it is a tale he is sleeping inside the mountain until the land is in need then he will awake to save the country.

it shows the monument on the mountain the mountain and Emperor Barbarossa and the river in the valley, the 8 parts of the bordure symbolizing the 8 villages that where united to the new town Kyffhäuserland.
