LEGNICKIE POLE
Province: Dolny Śląsk
County: Legnica
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on June 5, 1998.
The black eagle symbolizes the historical affiliation to Lower Silesia. The lower field refers to the battle of Legnica (April 9, 1241) and its significance for defending the Christian world from the Mongol invasion. The sword symbolizes the defenders of Christianity, while the arrow is stylized for use by the Mongols. The cross further highlights the religious significance of the battle.
