Meerdorf.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially adopted on March 22, 1982.

The base shows canting waves (Meer means sea), whereas the wind-mill blades refer to the two historical windmills in the village, which were operational until 1854 and 1921. The local Mühlenberg (mill-hill) still refers to the windmills. The colours are those of the State and former district of Braunschweig to which the village historically belonged.
