ROUGÉ
Département : Loire-Atlantique
Origin/meaning

The Lords of Rougé adopted a silver cross on red in the 13th century, as a symbol for th ethree members of the family who participated in the crusades. In the 19th century the city adopted the cross, but changed the colour to distinguish the arms from those of the family.
