Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro: “ VILA NOVA DE MONSARROS “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 23, 2002.

The sword in the arms is the symbol of the local patron saint, St. Michael. The wavy bend symbolises the many small rivers and streams in the municipality and especially the Cértima river. The grape vine in the base symbolises agriculture in general and viticulture in particular.
