History: Formed at Hornsea in August 1918 and reformed at Reykjavik, Iceland in August 1944.
Official blazon
A weathercock Or wattled gules the spire upon which it stands sable the indicating arms argent.
Motto: However the winds blows.
Origin/meaning
The Role of the Squadron was Meteorological Reconnaissance and Air/Sea Rescue. The Weathercock symbolises the first and the Motto alludes to the later. The Badge was granted in February 1945.
